Unrelated to statistics, judging by sales in a local bookstore, westerns tend to be one of the more popular genres. I have a hunch that a large chunk of the population is stressed from working more than one job, so a lot of reading for pleasure tends to be passed up. Despite the relatively small number of youth, youth services are likely still crucial because of the stress factor of the parents.
However, I don't think personal impressions are good enough to totally rely on. Even statistics leave a lot of questions unanswered, like "how many of the elderly population have eye trouble?" I also wonder how the higher-than-average disabled population breaks down.

I chose to do my report on the Columbia Marion County Library located in Columbia, MS. The area is served by the Columbia-Marion County Library which is part of the South Mississippi Regional Library. Other branches (which are located in Jefferson County) are the Dr. Frank L. Leggett Memorial Library in Bassfield and The Prentiss Public Library. Both of these branches are in Jefferson County, to the north.
